What is Lifeline?
Lifeline is an
easy-to-use personal response service that ensures that older adults living at
home on Cape Cod get quick assistance whenever it is needed. The service is
simple to use and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You'll feel more
secure with the Lifeline service. And so will your family.
The Lifeline Cape Cod Response Center uses state-of-the-art technology and our Personal Response Associates are caring and patient when speaking with you during an emergency.
When you need help, press the waterproof Personal Help Button you wear as a pendant or wristband. In seconds, a certified Lifeline monitor responds, assess the situation and summons appropriate help, whether it is a neighbor, relative or ambulance.
Who responds when I press my
button?
A caring and extensively-trained Lifeline professional with
instant access to your pertinent health history and personal profile on his or
her computer screen.
Why do I need Lifeline?
Life is
unpredictable. An unexpected fall or medical emergency could threaten your
future health if help is delayed. Lifeline is NOT just for medical emergencies.
The service also allows you to:
- Answer the telephone without having to rush to grab a handset and risk falling
- Maintain peace of mind knowing that help is just a press-of-the-button away
How much does the service cost?
For a
little more than a dollar a day, you get the Lifeline Personal Response
Service. You are not required to buy equipment or make a long-term commitment.
Step 1:
Pick a Personal Help Button
Choose between one worn around the neck or on the wrist:
The classic pendant wears like jewelry. It is waterproof and weighs less than half an ounce. The classic pendant has long range operation and a battery life of 5 years.
The slimline pendant may be worn as a pendant or a modern-looking watch. The slimline also has long range operation and a battery life of 5 years.
The Lifeline Tempo was especially designed by Lifeline and Timex for seniors who are concerned about the possible stigma of wearing a medical alert. The Tempo-is-easy to read and is a reliable timepiece which will increase the likelihood that the subscriber will be wearing the personal help button when they need help. At the press of a button, the subscriber will have access to help in less than 30 seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Step 2:
Pick a CarePartner Communicator
The basic unit features automatic voice to voice communication, remote call answering, monthly test call reminders, battery back up and adjustable volume controls.
The telephone with reminders features everything included with the basic unit, plus a full-featured telephone, programmable reminders, dial announce and time and date announce.
- Summon help: When you need help, just press your Personal Help Button which activates the CarePartner Communicator.
- Professional intervention: Your CarePartner Communicator then dials the Lifeline Response Center and establishes two-way voice communications.
- Appropriate Response: Within seconds, a Personal Response Associate accesses your profile and quickly assesses the situation.
- Closed loop: The Associate then contacts a neighbor, loved one or emergency services based on your specific needs. The Personal Response Associate will follow up to ensure that help arrived.
